Kalachakra for World Peace 2025 with Khensur Jhado Rinpoche
The Kalachakra tantra, a key practice of the Mahayana Vajrayana tradition from Tibet, holds a profound connection to world peace. Its rare and powerful initiation, traditionally conferred by great masters, blesses the local area, country, and beyond.
At the request of our late Spiritual Director, Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche, the Great Stupa will host the Kalachakra Initiation and a Mind Mandala Retreat to celebrate the installation of the new Kalachakra Ceiling.

and festivals
Throughout the year
Come along to nighttime light shows such as Enlighten and Illumin8 or our daytime events at the Great Stupa like Lunar New Year and Vegecareian Festivals.

Enlighten
Experience an immersive light show transforming the Peace Park into a dazzling nightscape, with projections on the Great Stupa under a starry sky.
It is an exclusive opportunity to view the Great Stupa after dark, but more than that, an event that sheds light on all beings. Lama Zopa Rinpoche has said “The Great Stupa will enlighten the world.”
ILLUMIN8
Celebrate peace and harmony at ILLUMIN8: Festival of Light and Peace, with stunning light displays, performances, vegan food, and Buddhist ceremonies.
ILLUMIN8 celebrates peace and harmony inspired by Buddha’s life. It commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and death of Buddha according to the Tibetan festival of Saga Dawa. It is a family friendly event with light installations, cultural performances, food stalls and family entertainment.

Lunar New Year
Celebrate the Year of the Snake with 10 days of festivities, including cultural events, family activities, and more at the Great Stupa.
The Great Stupa temple will be open daily until 4:45pm. Wishing our wonderful community a joyful and prosperous Year of the Snake! May this year bring you peace, happiness, and new beginnings.
Vegecareian Festival
Enjoy a celebration of vegetarian and vegan food, live cooking demos, craft stalls, and blessings for furry friends in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
Vegecareian Festival celebrates the coming together of friends, family and cultures. Learn how vegetarianism has developed in other communities, watch cooking demonstrations and sample vegetarian dishes from all over the globe. Learn the benefits of a vegetarian diet for your health and for other sentient beings. Bring along your furry friends and get them blessed by a Buddhist monk or nun inside The Great Stupa.
