Australian Standard MicroCredential Courses
Website design for a company that offers short online courses called micro-credentials which provide a fast way to help students upskill and reskill.
An Australian MicroCredential education company wanted to establish an online presence and create a recognisable brand. They needed a website where they could share information about the company and its programs, help students sign up for courses, and offer support and information for anyone interested in studying with them.
I created an easy-to-use website for the company that highlights its services, values, and commitment to helping students succeed. The site makes it simple for students to sign up for courses, access course materials, and get support when they need it.

The platform will act as both a promotional tool and a functional learning hub, enabling prospective students to discover courses, enrol, and access educational resources.
Project summary
The website will communicate the company’s mission, course offerings, and commitment to student success. It will target both individual learners seeking professional development and companies aiming to upskill staff. Functionality will include an integrated course catalogue, online enrolment and payment systems, student dashboard, and a support portal.
Objective
Establish a professional, trustworthy, and user-friendly online presence.
Clearly convey the value, relevance, and benefits of the company’s MicroCredential offerings.
Streamline the enrolment process and facilitate access to course content.
Provide an accessible student support experience to enhance satisfaction and retention.
Create a scalable foundation for future expansion, such as a blog, testimonials, and an extended course library.
Target audience
Individuals: Job seekers and professionals upgrading or diversifying skills to enhance career opportunities.
Corporate clients: Organisations looking to provide targeted training to sections of their workforce in specific skill or knowledge areas.
The design must appeal to both groups by balancing a clean, professional corporate tone with an engaging, approachable visual identity.

Course Catalogue: Filterable by category, subject, level, and duration. Approximately six categories (e.g. Business, IT, Personal Development, Marketing, Logistics, etc.).
Enrolment & Payment: Secure online registration and payment gateway.
Student Dashboard: Centralised access to course materials, assignments, grades, and progress tracking.
Search Functionality: Site-wide search for quick navigation.
Student Support Portal: Contact form, FAQs, and resources hub.
CMS Integration: Content and course delivery via Teachable or Thinkific framework, adhering to the National MicroCredential Framework.
Page structure
Homepage: Company overview, mission statement, and course highlights.
About Us: Company history, team profiles, and values.
Course Catalogue: Detailed listings with images, videos, and comprehensive course descriptions.
Enrolment Page: Step-by-step instructions for registration and payment.
Student Support: Clear pathways to contact, FAQs, and help resources.
Blog: Career tips, industry trends, and skills development resources. (Planned for later stage)
Requirements
Fully responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Clear, intuitive navigation with consistent menus.
Strong, formal footer for key links and compliance information.
Expanded, detailed course descriptions with multimedia integration.
Scalable architecture to accommodate growth in course offerings and content.

Moodboards
I wished to communicate three ideas: a predominantly photograph-based site, an illustration-heavy design (without leaning into Alegra) and a combination of the two – which I termed “mixed-minimalist”.
The client approved the mixed minimalist design.
Designs
Computer mockups
Mockups and prototype designs were made on Figma for the following pages: Home, About, Courses, a sample course page (Business Management), a sample course within the page (Project Management), Support and Articles.
Mobile mockups
These layout follow those of the computer mockups, with responsive and user-friendly design at the centre.
