Here’s a little story of Tara the teacher,

Technically, she’s still a preservice teacher,

Dangnabbit, she just went and rhymed teacher with teacher,

She did it again…

Let’s just do the (Cab) Call(away) and Respond.

Waterfall… Shhh!

Bibbity-bobbity-boo! We are looking at you!

1-2-3… Eyes on me!

Hocus, pocus… Everybody focus!

Zip it, lock it – Put it in your pocket.

Lions, and tigers, and bears… Oh my!

Hand on your head if you can hear me. [Silence]

"Bibbity-bobbity-boo!" "We are looking at you!"

"1-2-3…" "Eyes on me!" — 1-2-3… Eyes on me!

"Zip it, lock it -" "Put it in your pocket."

"Lions, and tigers, and bears…" "Oh my!"

"Hand on your head if you can hear me." [Silence]

Okay, so that one doesn’t translate across as seamlessly.

But it did get your attention!

A Triptych of Activities

An infographic on AI Deep Voice technology, which I’ve fittingly named “Dr. Deepvoice, or: How I Learned to Start Worrying and Doubt My Ears”. It looks into Benjamin Law’s episode of Compass on the ABC (titled Outsourcing Our Souls), and the CBC News video on audio deepfakes from the early advent of the AI years.

Tasked with gamifying the process of teaching university students to learn APA7 referencing, we’re taking a Survivor style approach… The tribe may well have spoken!

Working with AI (both ChatGPT and Google Gemini), I designed a Percy Jackson-inspired lesson plan for Year 6s.

Those 12-year-olds need to know their Greek roots of words, and what better way than to involve the neurodivergent demigod himself?
